Indian Gold, Silver Prices Plummet on July 28 Amid Fluctuating Markets

The prices of gold and silver have declined in India on July 28. According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), one kilogram of silver has become cheaper by ₹6,543, reaching ₹2.18 lakh. The price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold also fell by ₹1,907 to ₹1.43 lakh.

The prices of these precious metals have been fluctuating this year. Gold has seen a bullish trend so far in 2026, but its price has increased by ₹10,000 from the start of the year. On December 31, 2025, gold was priced at ₹1.33 lakh per 10 grams, and on July 28, it reached ₹1.42 lakh.

Silver prices have fallen by ₹12,000 to ₹2.18 lakh this year. According to commodity expert Ajay Kedia, the record highs of gold and silver have come down significantly. He advises investors to avoid making lump-sum investments, predicting that by the end of the year, gold could once again reach ₹1.60 lakh and silver could reach ₹2.80 lakh.
