Indian Stock Market Climbs on Easing Oil Prices and Fresh Foreign Fund Inflows
The Indian stock market began Monday's trading session on a positive note, driven by a combination of factors including cooling crude oil prices and fresh foreign fund inflows.
The 30-share BSE Sensex jumped 448.32 points to 74,743.28 in early trade, while the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 50.3 points to 23,396.70.
Among the Sensex firms, UltraTech Cement, InterGlobe Aviation, Asian Paints, Sun Pharma, HCL Tech, and Trent were notable gainers, while Infosys, Adani Ports, Bharti Airtel, and Power Grid lagged behind.
The Brent crude oil price tanked 2.25 per cent to USD 101.5 per barrel, providing some relief to the market.
