Indian Stocks Rise for Fourth Straight Session on Crude Price Relief
Indian stock benchmarks Sensex and Nifty rose for the fourth consecutive session on Monday due to easing crude oil prices and improving global cues.
The Nifty 50 ended at 23,414.30, up 0.29 percent, while the Sensex gained 0.76 percent to close at 74,858.99.
The decline in Brent crude below $101 a barrel contributed to the positive sentiment, providing some near-term relief to markets sensitive to India's import bill and inflation trajectory.
Eternal and HCL Tech topped the gainers list among Nifty constituents, while Bharti Airtel and Adani Ports were notable drags. The broader market, however, settled in the red.
