The prices of gold and silver in India remained steady on September 19. The retail market is dominated by two types of gold - 24-karat and 22-karat, with 22-karat being more popular for jewelry due to its higher strength and durability.

The prices are influenced by several factors, including the international gold price, US dollar exchange rate, and domestic demand, especially during the festive season. The latest rates in various cities across India show minimal variation in prices among different jewellers.

Joyalukkas and Malabar Gold & Diamonds quoted ₹14,285 per gram for 22-karat gold across major Indian states, while Tanishq's 22K gold rate stood at ₹14,330 per gram. Malabar's 24-carat gold rate is ₹15,584 per gram and Tanishq's 24-carat gold rate stood at ₹15,633 per gram.
