Iowa Gas Prices Fall to $4.23 Per Gallon
Iowa gasoline prices have fallen for the week, dropping by an average of 11 cents to $4.23 per gallon. This marks a welcome relief for drivers in the state, where fuel costs are still higher than they were a year ago. According to AAA, the current statewide average is $1.40 more expensive than it was at this time last year.
The national average has also decreased, falling by 31 cents to $4.43 per gallon. However, Iowa's diesel prices have not fared as well, declining by just 15 cents to an average of $6.13 per gallon. This is still lower than the national average of $6.41.
Crude oil prices were mixed this week, with West Texas Intermediate (WTI) falling by $1.24 per barrel to $91.40 and Brent crude rising by $1 to $103.73. The current Iowa terminal/rack prices for various fuels are also listed, ranging from $2.59 per gallon for E-70 to $5.20 for ULSD No. 1.
