Iowa Gas Prices Rise Again as Crude Oil Costs Climb

Gas prices in Iowa have increased by another 5 cents this week, according to AAA. The current average price for regular unleaded gasoline is $4.11 per gallon, up from last week's price and $1.20 from a year ago. This rise brings the statewide average to a total increase of $1.20 over the past year.

The national average on Wednesday was $4.36, which is 14 cents higher than last week's price. In contrast, diesel prices in Iowa have risen by 41 cents this week, with a statewide average of $6.12 per gallon. This current diesel price is 19 cents lower than the national average of $6.31.

Crude oil prices also saw an increase, with the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) rising by $8.19 to $104.01 per barrel and Brent crude increasing by $6.83 to $107.62 per barrel. One year ago, WTI crude sold for $64.89 and Brent crude was priced at $69.69.
