Iran Demands Reopening of Strait of Hormuz, Crude Oil Prices Surge
Crude oil prices surged on Hyperliquid as Iran issued demands for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. The WTI perpetual futures jumped to $77.67, while Brent soared to $83.
The US-Iran war paused last week after Iran and Oman continued deliberating on the future of the Strait of Hormuz. This happened after the US halted its planned attacks against Iran amid heightened pressure from US Gulf allies like Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
Iran is now demanding that the US remove its blockade and all sanctions it has put in place against the country, as well as release all frozen assets and end attacks against its regional allies. The country believes it is in a strong position due to recent reports on the US weapons shortages.
