Iran-U.S. Negotiations Stall as Oil Prices Soar
The ongoing standoff between the U.S. and Iran shows no signs of resolution as new developments emerge in New York.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with Qatari intermediaries in the city, where he discussed potential solutions to Iran's demands. According to Araghchi, the proposal calls for a four- to five-day timeline for the U.S. to release frozen Iranian assets, lift sanctions on Iranian oil, and halt the naval blockade of Iranian ports.
In exchange, Tehran wants nuclear negotiations to begin within seven days. However, President Donald Trump has already rejected this plan, labeling it 'unacceptable' due to economic pressure. He stated that U.S. officials have their own conversations with mediators but offered no further details.
