Iran Vows to Block All Oil Exports if Region Supports US Sanctions
Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, warned that Tehran will not allow any oil to be exported from the Persian Gulf if regional countries support US sanctions against Iran. According to him, this includes not only the Strait of Hormuz but also other oil export routes in the region.
Rezaei emphasized that if the states of the Persian Gulf take Washington's side and continue exporting oil, Iran will block all exports from the entire region. Currently, the Strait of Hormuz is already blocked, and other routes have not yet been targeted, but this could change according to Rezaei.
The Secretary also stated that the US will ultimately abandon its allied commitments to Arab countries and urged them not to rely on long-term protection from American military forces. This warning comes after US President Donald Trump announced a large-scale economic operation against Iran on August 20, threatening severe consequences for any country providing assistance to Tehran.
