Iran War Spreads to Red Sea as Houthi Fighters Strike Saudi Oil Installations

A simmering conflict between Iran and its adversaries has spilled over into new regions, despite a pause in US military strikes against Tehran. The Iran war's impact is now being felt along the Red Sea coast, where Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthi fighters launched attacks on Saudi oil installations.

The Houthi's military spokesperson, Yahya Saree, announced that the group had struck sites belonging to Saudi state oil company Aramco in Jizan and Yanbu. The attacks resulted in significant damage to fuel and oil storage facilities at both locations.

In Yanbu, a US-made Patriot battery operated by Greek forces intercepted two ballistic missiles aimed at oil installations. However, the Houthi's strike on Saudi Arabia's main Red Sea oil port marked a significant escalation of the conflict, which has already disrupted energy supplies through the Strait of Hormuz.
