Iran Warns Countries Disrupting Oil Sales: 'No Infrastructure Will Be Safe'

Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has issued a warning to countries seeking to disrupt Iran's oil sales and undermine its security. He stated that if Iran's security is not guaranteed, no infrastructure will be safe.

Qalibaf specifically addressed the United States, which he said had been making baseless claims about controlling the Strait of Hormuz, a critical waterway for global oil trade. The US had previously threatened to close the strait and imposed sanctions on Iran's oil exports.

The Islamic Republic has conditioned the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz on seven prerequisites, which include cessation of warfare on all fronts and release of Iran's frozen assets. Qalibaf emphasized that Iran would respond decisively to any US attempt to enforce a naval blockade or exert pressure on its commercial lifelines.

The parliament speaker drew parallels with the 1980s war imposed by Iraq's former dictator Saddam Hussein, where the Iranian people broke the siege of the city of Abadan. He emphasized that Iran would not be intimidated and would defend its security, dignity, and rights at all costs.
