Iran's Oil Exports Keep Flowing Despite War and Blockade

Iran's oil exports continued unabated throughout the 40-day war, despite the country being under naval blockade. Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad confirmed that sales and deliveries kept pace from February 28th until the temporary ceasefire announcement.

The minister emphasized that the oil sector maintained its operations despite being bombed and a number of workers killed. He noted special measures taken to ensure continued export and delivery, including transferring large quantities of crude oil during calm periods to areas far from blockade zones.

Paknejad also mentioned ongoing projects to boost oil and gas production. Specifically, he pointed to a project increasing oil output by 250,000 barrels per day, with around 70-80% already achieved. Additionally, development work at the South Pars field continues, where more than 30 new wells have entered production, contributing to increased natural gas production.
