Iran's Plan to Reopen Strait of Hormuz Coordinated with Supreme Leader

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has revealed that the country's new plan to reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz was coordinated with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, according to state media.

The strait is crucial for the world's oil supply and central to the conflict between the US and Iran, which remains deadlocked after nearly seven months.

Pezeshkian told CBS that if the US accepts the proposal, Iran will also fulfil its obligations. 'Coordination with the leader of the revolution... has been carried out,' he said.

The plan calls for a cessation of all hostilities in the Middle East, as well as the release of frozen Iranian assets estimated to be worth at least $12 billion and the lifting of sanctions on Iranian oil.
