Iraq Boosts Kirkuk Oil Exports to 250K Barrels Per Day
Iraq's oil exports through the Kirkuk export system have increased to about 250,000 barrels per day, up from roughly 225,000 barrels. The higher volumes of oil transported from Basra fields are being moved by tanker trucks to the export system.
The increase in crude production is due in part to additional volumes coming from oil fields in the Kurdistan Region, with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) supplying about 70,000 barrels per day.
Crude production from Kirkuk fields allocated for export currently stands at around 180,000 barrels per day. The main export pipeline transports the crude through Turkish territory to the port of Ceyhan, where it is prepared for shipment to international markets.
