IRGC Strikes Oil Tanker for Attempting Illegal Passage Through Strait of Hormuz
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that a Togo-flagged oil tanker, named 'Trend', was struck by naval forces in the Strait of Hormuz after attempting to pass through the waterway illegally.
The IRGC stated that the vessel had been deceived and provoked by the US Army into taking this route, which it warned would lead to 'destruction'.
This incident comes just days after the IRGC tightened its grip on the Strait of Hormuz, barring safe passage for vessels belonging to or affiliated with Israel and the United States following joint strikes on Iranian territory in February.
