Sindh Cabinet Approves Enhanced Wheat Subsidy and Digital Land Transfer System

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah presided over a cabinet meeting at CM House on September 17, 2026. The provincial cabinet approved a comprehensive package to strengthen support for wheat growers.

The subsidy package is expected to benefit around 550,000 wheat growers across Sindh and would include an enhanced incentive for farmers supplying wheat to the food department. The existing subsidy of Rs1,000 per maund has been increased to Rs2,000 per maund.

The government also approved a landmark digital and blockchain-based system for electronic transfer of land titles in three pilot dehs: Matiari and Palijani in District Matiari, and Deh Bagerji in District Sukkur. The new system would provide a secure, faceless, and one-window mechanism for the electronic transfer of land titles.

The cabinet also approved several other measures covering health care, taxation, local government, labour, land administration, and youth development, including the construction of a 13-storey, 445-bed Bilquis & Abdul Sattar Edhi Medical Tower at the National Institute of Child Health (NICH), Karachi.
