Ivanhoe Electric's Santa Cruz Copper Study Boosts Capital Estimate
Ivanhoe Electric Inc.'s updated Santa Cruz copper study estimates initial capital of US$1.43 billion and after-tax net present value of US$1.5 billion at an eight percent discount rate, using a copper price of US$4.75 per pound.
Compared to the 2025 study, the Arizona project now requires US$190 million more initial capital and targets first cathode in 2029 instead of 2028.
The study projects a 24-year mine life based on 140 million tonnes of probable reserves grading 1.08 percent copper, with about 75,000 tonnes of copper cathode produced annually during the first 15 years.
