JD Vance Warns of Skyrocketing Energy Prices Under Democratic Rule
Vice President JD Vance sparked controversy after making a prediction about what could happen if Democrats win back Congress in November. According to Vance, energy prices would skyrocket due to Congressional investigations and opposition to American coal, oil, and natural gas.
However, critics pointed out that energy prices are already inflated, with Brent crude sitting at just above $102 a barrel, up roughly 58% for the year as of Saturday. A gallon of regular gas also remains high at $4.38 per gallon, up from $3.15 per gallon one year ago.
Vance's comments came after President Donald Trump launched a war against Iran alongside Israel, leading to increased oil prices. Some critics noted that the current inflation is largely due to this decision.
