Kabul Fuel Prices Rise Amid Changes in Oil Imports

In Kabul markets, fuel prices have increased due to changes in oil imports from Iran. According to Hekmatullah Mohammadi, an employee at the Wazirabad fuel station, one liter of petrol now costs 80 afghanis, up from 78 afghanis seven days ago, while diesel has risen to 75 afghanis, from 73 afghanis.

The prices of other essential items have remained relatively stable. Zamari Safi, head of the Food Traders Union in Kabul, stated that a 49-kilogram sack of Kazakh flour now costs 1,600 afghanis, up from 1,550 afghanis previously, while a 24-kilogram bag of Indian rice sells for 2,500 afghanis.

The price of sugar has actually decreased. A 49-kilogram sack of Indian sugar is now traded at 2,650 afghanis, down from 2,770 afghanis seven days ago.

Gold prices have also increased. Mohammad Fawad, a jeweler in the Timor Shahi area, reported that one gram of Arabian gold now costs 7,350 afghanis, up from 7,020 afghanis previously, while Russian gold has risen to 5,850 afghanis per gram, from 5,600 afghanis.
