Kalshi Seeks CFTC Approval for Regulated US Oil Perpetual

Kalshi is planning to file for a CFTC approval of an expiry-free WTI crude contract, which could become the first regulated US oil perpetual if approved.

The proposal follows recent announcements by ICE and OKX that they would offer Brent and WTI perpetual futures for crypto users, showing that expiry-free oil trading is moving beyond crypto-only assets.

A perpetual contract removes the need for traders to roll their positions or accept settlement, allowing them to maintain exposure as long as their account meets margin requirements.
