Korea Disputes US Claim on Alaska LNG Investment

South Korea has disputed US President Donald Trump's claim that the country agreed to invest $54 billion in an Alaska liquefied natural gas project. According to Industry Minister Kim Jung-kwan, Seoul had only agreed to proceed with the project if it proves economically viable.

In a televised briefing on Thursday, Minister Kim stated that South Korea expressed its regret to US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick 'that what was reported today went beyond what had been agreed.'
