LA and Orange County Gas Prices Continue Steady Climb
The average price of gas in LA and Orange County has risen again, this time by 1.1 cents per gallon. The LA county average price is now $5.664, making it the fourth consecutive increase. This rise puts the average price 1.8 cents higher than one week ago, 7.3 cents more than one month ago, and a whopping $1.14 more than this time last year.
The Orange County average price also saw its fourth straight increase, rising by 1.1 cents to $5.607. It is now 2.5 cents higher than one week ago, 6.8 cents more than one month ago, and a dollar over $1.10 more than last year.
Kandace Redd, senior public affairs specialist at the Automobile Club of Southern California, attributes these increases to 'crude oil prices approaching the $90 per barrel range amid continued uncertainty along the Strait of Hormuz and the conflict in the Middle East.'
The national average price dropped slightly by seven-tenths of a cent to $4.102, but is still 3.2 cents more than one week ago, 4.2 cents higher than one month ago, and 96 cents above last year.
