Libya's Sharara Oil Production Disrupted by Armed Group

An armed group in Libya has disrupted oil production at one of the country's largest fields, Sharara. On Monday, the group shut off a valve on the pipeline carrying crude from the field to al-Zawiya port, according to the National Oil Corporation (NOC). This move caused a sharp drop in production, but the NOC did not provide exact figures.

The disruption follows recent attacks on Libya's energy infrastructure. In August, drone strikes hit fuel storage facilities at al-Zawiya oil complex, causing fires and explosions.
