LNG Bunker Prices Fall Amid Middle East Conflict De-escalation Hopes
LNG bunker prices have fallen amid hopes of de-escalation in the Middle East conflict. The decline was driven by a drop in the front-month Dutch TTF Natural Gas contract, which fell by approximately 2% over the week.
The TTF price is Europe's benchmark gas price and has been influenced by forecasts of warmer weather and easing tensions in the region. Negotiations on the Strait of Hormuz have contributed to downward pressure on prices.
Singapore's LNG bunker price has declined more sharply than the ARA price, narrowing its premium over ARA to $147/mt from $179/mt a week earlier.
The decline in prices is attributed to reduced geopolitical risk and expectations of easing tensions in the Middle East. The JKM, which Singapore's LNG bunker price tracks, has fallen by $1.70/MMBtu ($88/mt) to $25.82/MMBtu ($1,342/mt).
