PETRONAS CEO Tengku Muhammad Taufik revealed that liquefied natural gas (LNG) buyers are currently paying between $25 and $28 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) without significant hesitation. This price range persists despite supply disruptions linked to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Speaking at the Energy Intelligence Forum in London, Muhammad Taufik suggested that if LNG prices rise further to $40 to $50 per MMBtu, consumers may start shifting to alternative energy sources. The current pricing reflects the tension between supply constraints and demand stability.
