LNG Canada Expands Kitimat Terminal Capacity by 100%

LNG Canada has made the decision to move forward with its Phase 2 expansion project at the Kitimat, B.C. liquefied natural gas export terminal.

The expansion will double LNG Canada's capacity to 28 million tonnes per year, making it one of the largest projects in the country.

LNG Canada CEO Chris Cooper stated that the project will create thousands of jobs and further solidify Canada's position as a trusted energy partner.

The Phase 2 expansion will build on the existing infrastructure from the first phase, which began shipping liquefied natural gas last year. It will include two additional LNG processing units, an extra LNG storage tank, condensate tank, loading berth, and expanded utility and process systems.
