LNG Shortage Exacerbates Bangladesh's Gas Crisis
A severe gas shortage has gripped Bangladesh, disrupting CNG filling stations. The crisis worsened after liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies fell again on Monday.
The Petrobangla official attributed the decline to rough weather at sea, which prevented an import vessel from unloading LNG. This reduced supplies by more than 250 million cubic feet.
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Aninda Islam Amit stated that the energy division is working with all concerned to increase gas supplies as quickly as possible.
