Magic: The Gathering's Latest Secret Lair Superdrop Offers Eclectic Mix of Cards
Wizards of the Coast has released its latest Secret Lair Superdrop, featuring a diverse range of Magic: The Gathering cards. This drop is notable for its eclectic mix of cards, including Jim Henson's Labyrinth-inspired designs and Marvel zombies. Each card in the set has been priced at either $29.99 or $39.99, with foil versions available for an additional cost.
The Corn Maze Superdrop includes eight Secret Lair drops, each with its own unique theme and artwork. The first drop is Manufactured Grounds by See Machine, featuring a cycle of artifact lands that were previously banned in Standard for breaking Affinity decks. These cards are now viable in artifact EDH decks, where players can only use one copy of each card.
The second drop is Artist Series: Veronique Meignaud, showcasing the artist's vibrant and colorful work. However, this drop falls short of the $30 minimum for a Secret Lair Superdrop, with some cards priced below $1. The third drop is Through The Labyrinth, featuring a mix of cards that don't particularly fit the Labyrinth theme but are still visually appealing.
The Marvel: Zombies drop is one of the most popular in the set, with its creepy and humorous take on the Marvel universe. This drop includes some of the rarest and most valuable cards in the set, including Vogar, Necropolis Tyrant's first regular copy to see print. The KPop Demon Hunters drop is another highlight, featuring a strong selection of playable cards and several singles worth more than $5.
The final two drops are Should You Need Us and Peace, Love, & Treefolk, both of which feature reskinned legendary creatures and some valuable cards. The latter drop has been praised for its unique artwork, but may be divisive among fans.
