Maine Heating Oil Prices Soar to Record High
Maine's heating oil prices have reached an all-time high at $6.02 per gallon, according to the Maine Department of Energy Resources.
This surpasses the previous record set in 2022, with a staggering 81% increase from this time last year.
The state estimates that it now costs approximately $740 more to fill a standard 275-gallon oil tank compared to last year.
About half of Maine households rely on fuel oil as their primary heat source, one of the highest rates in the nation.
