Malaysia Hails Bangladesh for LNG Assistance Request Amid Crisis

Bangladesh's Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has reached out to his counterpart in Malaysia, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, for help addressing a severe liquefied natural gas (LNG) shortage.

According to Anwar, the matter was discussed during a phone conversation on July 28, and it is reported that Bangladesh's gas supply shortage has been exacerbated by an accident at an industrial facility following the West Asia conflict.

Anwar stated that Malaysia will maintain its commitment to strengthening ties with Bangladesh through mutual respect, pragmatic cooperation, and shared benefits for both countries.
