Former Nepal Chamber of Commerce Chairman Rajendra Mall has called for special steps to ease the supply of gas and essential goods in the country. Speaking at a discussion program organized by the Economic Journalists Association of Nepal (SEJON), Mall emphasized that the government and concerned bodies should take immediate action to address the issue.

Mall suggested implementing practical regulations by the Nepal Oil Corporation, including allowing consumers to exchange empty cylinders from one company for filled ones from another. This would ensure easy availability of gas for consumers and relieve them from the additional financial burden of buying a new cylinder, he said.

'If a mechanism is created for exchanging cylinders between companies and settling accounts among them later, the gas shortage in the market will disappear immediately,' Mall stated.
