MCX Gold and Silver Prices See Mixed Action Ahead of US Inflation Data

Gold and silver prices on India's Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) were mixed in Thursday morning trade as investors exercised caution ahead of US inflation data and a Federal Reserve policy decision.

The MCX gold futures (October) opened at Rs 1,53,581, down 0.11 per cent or Rs 182 from the previous day.

However, it quickly recovered to an intraday high of Rs 1,54,252, up 0.31 per cent or Rs 489, before settling at Rs 1,54177, a gain of 0.27 per cent or Rs 414.

Silver futures (December), on the other hand, traded near an intraday high of Rs 2,44,265, up just 0.02 per cent or Rs 52.

But it later declined as much as 0.60 per cent or Rs 1,487 to hit a low of Rs 2,42,726 before rebounding.
