Meat Exports Surge Amid Grain Market Slowdown
The US meat export market saw an uptick in sales, with beef and pork exports increasing compared to the previous week. The USDA reported that beef sales were above average due to improved demand from key customers such as South Korea and Mexico.
Pork exports also showed a week-to-week improvement, with Mexico and Japan leading the way. However, aside from wheat, grain and oilseed export sales were lower than last week, partially due to high prices compared to other exporters.
Physical shipments of corn and wheat exceeded what's needed to meet USDA projections for the current marketing year. The 2025/26 marketing year began on October 1st for soybean products, while 2026/27 got underway on June 1st for wheat, August 1st for cotton and rice, and September 1st for corn, sorghum, and soybeans.
