Middle East Oil Production Halted Through 2027
The Middle East's oil sector is facing ongoing challenges that may hinder its ability to restore output to pre-conflict levels by the end of 2027.
A report from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates that around 600,000 barrels of oil per day will remain shut-in in the region through 2027.
This comes despite hopes for a normalization of trade patterns by early next year, according to the EIA's August short-term energy outlook report.
The Department of Energy's statistical arm estimated that production shut-ins averaged 5.5 million barrels per day in July.
