Middle East Tensions Fuel Oil Price Surge

Oil prices declined on Tuesday as investors weighed the impact of Middle Eastern producers' increased exports against ongoing uncertainty surrounding the Iran conflict.

Crude exports from the region rose to 15.5 million barrels per day in September, a level exceeding 80% of prewar production and the highest since the conflict began seven months ago.

Saudi Arabia led the recovery by more than doubling its crude exports from 2.45 million bpd in August to around 5.4 million bpd in September after repairing parts of the damaged East-West pipeline.

Analysts at Standard Chartered have increased their oil price forecasts due to stalled diplomacy efforts and regional escalation beyond Iran and Hormuz.
