Middle Eastern Oil Exports Surge Amid Ongoing US-Iran Tensions
Oil prices declined today as investors focused on recovering crude exports from the Middle East and concerns over potential supply disruptions stemming from the US-Israeli war on Iran. Brent crude futures fell $1.96 to $103.32 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude dropped $1.95 to $90.65.
Crude exports from major Middle Eastern producers rose to 12.8 million barrels a day in September, the highest since February. This increase was driven by increased shipments from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Despite this uptick in supply, oil prices remain elevated due to concerns over potential disruptions in the region. The US-Iran standoff has kept energy markets on edge, with officials expressing pessimism about reaching a deal before the situation escalates further.
