The National Energy Regulatory Agency (NARE) of Moldova has approved new gas tariffs that will see prices rise by almost 30% for end consumers. The increase is due to a surge in natural gas costs, which have risen to 17,050 lei/1,000 m³ from 12,150 lei/1,000 m³.

The NARE examined Energocom's request and verified the components included in the structure of regulated prices before making its decision. The new tariffs will come into force on October 1, 2026.

Under the revised prices, gas will cost end consumers almost 6 lei more per cubic meter, rising to 26.14 lei, which represents a cumulative increase of over 70% in just a few weeks.
