Moldova Prepares for Winter with Diversified Gas Supply and Renewable Energy
The Moldovan government has announced that it is well-prepared for the upcoming heating season, which is expected to begin in about a month and a half to two months.
The authorities have diversified the gas supply, with approximately 40% of natural gas volumes acquired on the free market. This represents a significant decrease from last year's reliance on a single supplier.
Vitalie Mîța, State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, stated that the plan includes measures to secure the supply of electricity, natural gas, and heat for consumers in centralized systems.
The commercial operationalization of the Vulcănești-Chișinău overhead power line is also a priority. The project is in its final phase, with maximum efforts being made to complete all works by the end of October.
