Moldovagaz to Ensure Gas Supply to Transnistria Until April 30, 2027

Moldovagaz is expected to continue supplying natural gas to the Transnistrian region until April 30, 2027. The company would be responsible for ensuring gas supply throughout the cold season.

The Ministry of Energy has requested ANRE (National Agency for Energy Regulation) to extend Moldovagaz's obligation to supply gas to the left bank of the Nistru River. This means that Moldovagaz must build up stocks equivalent to 15% of the region's consumption.

According to Energy Minister Dorin Junghietu, Moldovagaz is already working on contracting the necessary volumes. Prime Minister Vasile Tofan emphasized that the authorities have an obligation to take into account the citizens of the Republic of Moldova living in the Transnistrian region, despite disagreements with the Tiraspol regime.

Tofan stressed that 'our citizens are there' and that gas supply must be viewed from their perspective. He also noted that gas is supplied to the region through a Hungarian company, paid for by the region's partners.
