Silver prices have plummeted in India, dropping ₹2,412 to ₹2.33 lakh per kilogram over the past two days. This marks a decline of more than ₹4,000 in just 48 hours, with silver becoming cheaper by ₹1,916 and gold by ₹390 on Monday alone.

The IBJA reports that gold prices have also fallen, dropping to ₹1.52 lakh per 10 grams of 24-carat gold, a decrease of ₹1,205 from the previous price. Gold has become significantly more expensive this year, increasing by ₹20,000 since December 2025.

Market experts predict that volatility may persist in gold and silver prices due to recent interest rate hikes by the Federal Reserve. However, they also note that geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainty could lead investors back to these safe-haven assets.
