Murphy Oil Surpasses Expectations in Q2 CY2026 with 33.2% Revenue Growth
Murphy Oil, an oil and gas producer listed on the NYSE under the ticker MUR, reported better-than-expected sales in Q2 CY2026. The company's revenue rose by 33.2% year-on-year to $926.3 million, exceeding Wall Street estimates of $896.6 million.
The non-GAAP profit was $1.55 per share, missing analysts' consensus estimates by 2.2%. However, Murphy Oil's operating margin improved significantly, reaching 38.3%, up from 13.3% in the same quarter last year.
The company's free cash flow margin also saw a substantial increase to 70.9%, compared to 5.9% in the same period last year. Oil production per day decreased by 3.5% year-on-year, while natural gas production per day increased by 1.2%.
