National Fuel Lowers Gas Supply Charges for PA Residents

Starting August 1st, National Fuel Gas Distribution Corporation (National Fuel) will lower its monthly gas supply charges for Pennsylvania residents. The annual adjustment, submitted to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission, reduces the average monthly bill by $2.75.

The typical residential customer who uses 98,400 cubic feet of gas annually will see their monthly rate decrease from $91.21 to $88.46. This price drop is primarily due to lower market prices for natural gas and includes a refund for an overcollection of pipeline capacity charges from a previous period.

Additionally, National Fuel will no longer markup or profit from gas supply costs, making the actual cost more transparent for customers. The company updates its gas supply charges quarterly to reflect changes in the market price of natural gas, with the next adjustment set for November 1st.
