Natural gas futures surged to their highest level since July as a light storage print on Thursday sent prices above $3.000/MMBtu.

The injection of 53 Bcf into underground storage facilities was significantly lower than the five-year average, further supporting the rally.

This has been one of the leanest seasons for natural gas production, and any reduction in supply can lead to price increases.
