Natural Gas Prices Plummet Amid Mild Fall Weather Forecasts
Natural gas prices took a hit on Monday as traders focused on forecasts for mild fall weather. The New York Mercantile Exchange natural gas futures fell to $2.841/MMBtu, down 7.1 cents from the previous day.
The Henry Hub spot prices averaged $2.921 in early action, reflecting the decrease in demand due to consumers idling their air conditioners.
The market is anticipating substantial cooling weather this week, which could lead to a decline in natural gas consumption.
