Nigeria's Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, has pledged to strengthen security support for oil-producing companies in the country.

The move aims to protect critical petroleum assets and increase Nigeria's crude oil production output.

Abbas made the commitment during a meeting with the Security Sub-Committee of the Oil Producers Trade Section of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Naval Headquarters in Abuja.

The delegation, led by Mr. Johnson Ogbum, sought enhanced security cooperation to protect oil production facilities, remote assets, and export terminals from threats such as crude oil theft and third-party interference.
