The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago (NGC) has finalized commercial agreements with Shell Trinidad and Tobago to bring gas from the Aphrodite project to market.

The agreements were concluded in early September, ahead of their public announcement on September 23. NGC expects gas to arrive during the second quarter of 2027 through its transport network, which will link this production to local markets in Trinidad and Tobago.

Shell holds a 100 percent stake in the Aphrodite project, which has a peak capacity of approximately 18,400 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d). NGC presents the new commercial terms as significantly more favorable to the country, with Chairman Gerald Ramdeen estimating that they could bring up to 400 percent additional value.
