Nigeria's Crude Oil Production Slips by Four Per Cent in July

Nigeria's crude oil production declined by four per cent in July 2026, according to data released by the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC). The country produced an average of 1.505 million barrels per day (mbpd) of crude oil during the month.

This represents a decrease from June's production, which stood at 1.53 million bpd. Despite the decline, Nigeria still exceeded its OPEC production quota for the third consecutive month, producing an average of 1.67 mbpd of crude oil and condensate.

The NUPRC attributed the decline in July's production output to operational challenges at the Erha and Akpo fields, which affected production volumes during the period. The commission stated that operators implemented measures to maintain production efficiency and minimize the impact of operational constraints.
