Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) has dedicated its entire cooking gas production to the domestic market, abandoning exports to improve access to cleaner fuel.

The company's Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Adeleye Falade, announced this during a recent media engagement, stating that NLNG supplied 500,000 tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to the Nigerian market last year, representing the highest annual domestic LPG supply since 2005.

NLNG has generated over $150 billion in revenue and exported more than 6,000 liquefied natural gas cargoes globally since its inception. The company has also paid over $47.2 billion in dividends to shareholders and remitted more than $10 billion in taxes to the Federal Government.

Falade emphasized that NLNG's decision to focus on domestic gas utilization was driven by concerns about indoor air pollution, deforestation, and carbon emissions. He highlighted that the company has reduced gas flaring significantly, from 65% in the past to below 20% currently.
