Northern Oil and Gas (NYSE:NOG) is set to report its earnings on Thursday after market hours. The company beat revenue expectations last quarter, reporting revenues of $526.5 million, a decline of 11.1% year over year.

However, it was a slower quarter for Northern Oil and Gas, with the company missing analysts' EBITDA estimates. Oil production also declined by 6.5% year on year.

This quarter, analysts expect a decline in revenue of 9.4% year on year, a reversal from last year's 11.5% increase. Despite this, Northern Oil and Gas has a history of exceeding Wall Street's expectations.

Other companies in the US shale E&P segment have already reported their Q2 results, with Cactus delivering revenue growth of 64.3%, beating estimates by 12.3%, and Crescent Energy reporting revenues up 55.3%, topping estimates by 7.1%.
