North America's LNG Boom Accelerates Amid Global Supply Disruptions
Global natural gas prices have surged to multi-year highs due to Middle East supply disruptions and record-low European storage levels. This has created a favorable environment for North American liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports, which are expected to more than double in the next five years.
New LNG export terminals are rapidly advancing across the US, Canada, and Mexico, with several major projects set to begin construction this year. While long-term contracts insulate North American exporters from spot volatility, persistent global deficits are driving demand for additional supply.
The current macro landscape is fueling further expansion of North American LNG capacity, with existing export terminals already operating at high utilization rates. The growth in LNG exports is expected to be a significant contributor to the region's energy sector.
